PRIVACY POLICY

Antav Global (“we”, “us”, or “our”) publishes Merimerkit (Swedish: Sjömärken; English: Sea Marks), a mobile learning app for iOS about Finnish navigation marks, chart symbols, waterway signs, light signals, and signal flags (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App and how we handle it.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Summary

• We do not require an account or registration.
• Most App data (language, quiz topics, and study progress) stays on your device only and is not sent to our servers.
• We do not operate our own backend or cloud save service for the App.
• The App shows ads through Google AdMob, which may collect data as described below.
• Optional purchases to remove ads are processed by Apple, not by us.

2. Information we do not collect directly

We do not ask for or collect the following through our own systems:

• Email address, phone number, or postal address
• Account login credentials
• Precise GPS location
• Contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health data
• Payment card or banking details

(Payments for in-app purchases are handled by Apple. See Section 5.)

3. Information stored on your device

The App stores the following locally on your iPhone (for example in on-device storage) to provide features and settings. This information is not transmitted to Antav Global servers:

• Your chosen app language (Finnish, English, or Swedish)
• Whether you have completed first-launch language onboarding
• Your last quiz topic selection
• Study progress (nautical miles and rank)
• A local flag that ads are unlocked after a valid Apple purchase

Deleting the App removes this locally stored data from your device unless iOS retains backups you restore later.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Unless you have an active ad-free purchase, the App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, including:

• Banner ads
• Full-screen interstitial ads (for example during study in Learn or Quiz)
• Rewarded ads that you may choose to watch for an extra quiz life

Rewarded ads are optional. You are not required to watch them to use the App.

When ads are shown, Google and its partners may collect and use information such as:

• Device identifiers
• Coarse location (for example derived from IP address)
• Ad interaction and performance data
• Diagnostic and crash-related data related to ad delivery

This data may be used to deliver, measure, and improve advertising and analytics. Google’s use of data is governed by its policies, including:

App Tracking Transparency
 The App may request permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework to help personalize ads. You can allow or decline. If you decline, ads can still appear, but with less personalization.

European consent
 In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, a consent message may appear before personalized ads are requested, in line with Google’s requirements.

5. Purchases (Apple)

Optional subscriptions or products that remove ads are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles your Apple ID, payment, and receipts. We receive entitlement status (whether ads should be turned off), not your full payment card details.

You can restore purchases on a device signed in with the same Apple ID.

6. Links to official sources

The App may open external websites (for example Traficom or Väylä / the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency) when you choose a source link. Those sites have their own privacy practices. We do not control them.

7. Children’s privacy

Merimerkit is an educational, general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it where applicable.

8. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process information as follows:

• Provide the App (contract / legitimate interests): local preferences and progress on your device.
• Advertising (consent where required): AdMob data collection based on applicable consent and ATT choices.
• Purchases: processed by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object to processing or withdraw consent.

Because most App data stays on your device, you can delete local data by removing the App. For ad-related data processed by Google, you may use your device settings (including Tracking) and review Google’s privacy tools. For purchase records, use your Apple ID and App Store settings.

10. Data retention

• On-device data: retained until you delete the App or clear App data.
• Advertising data: retained according to Google’s policies and your consent choices.
• Purchase records: retained by Apple according to Apple’s policies.

11. International transfers

Google and Apple may process data in countries other than your own. Their respective privacy policies describe safeguards they use for international transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
